The Chemex Coffeemaker was invented in 1941 by Dr. Peter Schlumbohm PhD. Made from non-porous, borosilicate glass and fastened with a wood collar and tie, the now classic Chemex brews coffee without imparting any flavors of its own. On permanent display at MOMA NY and other fine museums, it is truly a work of art and a standard in modern coffee shops and homes. The iconic Chemex has remained unchanged for 70 years and counting.

A family run business, headquartered in Western Massachusetts, Chemex Coffeemakers, Chemex bonded filters, handblown water kettles, and Chemex accessories are manufactured with the sole mission to provide superior coffee brewing equipment.
